The inauguration of the exhibition "At night I painted red pictures" in the former Scola Grande Synagogue - Museum of Jewish History in Trani yesterday aroused great interest. This exhibition features 23 works of Jewish art dating back to the period preceding the Second World War, to the years of the conflict and to those immediately following. š‹šš šŒšØš¬šš«šš, organized by the SECA Foundation of Trani and the ILMC Foundation of Barletta, will be held from January 12 to 2024 (a special musical event is planned for the finissage of the exhibition) and presents a selection of paintings taken from the vast Collection gathered by the Pesaro-based patron Roberto Malini and recently acquired by the ILMC Foundation.

In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, a conference moderated by the journalist š…š„šØš«š¢ššš§šš š“šØš„šÆšž was held at Palazzo Lodispoto, attended by the patron š‘šØš›šžš«ššØ šŒššš„š¢š§š¢, the musician š…š«ššš§šœšžš¬šœšØ š‹šØššØš«šØ, president of the ILMC Foundation and researcher engaged for over thirty years in the recovery of music composed in concentration camps and the Director of the Polo Museale di Trani š†š«ššš³š¢ššš§šØ š”š«š›ššš§šØ. Also present at the event were šˆš¬ššš›šžš„š„šš š‚š¢šœšœšØš„šžš„š„šš and ššššššš„šž šššš ššš§šØ, president and secretary general of the SECA Foundation and š€š„ššØ ššššš«š®š§šØ, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Enhancement of the Territory of the Puglia Region, who highly appreciated the cultural value of the initiative.

š‘šØš›šžš«ššØ šŒššš„š¢š§š¢ underlined how this exhibition - through the presentation of the works of three authors - represents a small but important cross-section of the art of the Jews of Europe which saw the involvement of thousands of professional artists, many of whom (about 200,000) perished in the Nazi concentration and extermination camps.

Below are some images from the conference and the exhibition opening.
