On January 26th, at 10:05 PM, RAI 5 will broadcast the VISIONI program , which, for MEMORIAL DAY, will feature a report on the research activities carried out by the Fondazione Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria (ILMC).

VISIONS, the cultural study program of Rai 5 has produced a documentary titled "Artists in the SHOAH," which aims to illustrate how music and art can be a source of comfort and a tool for mental survival. Among the various interviewees, Maestro Francesco Lotoro stands out. He has been researching music composed in concentration camps for years through the Fondazione Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionari (ILMC), whose archive has been declared and is protected by this Superintendency. The documentary will air on Sunday, January 26th at 10:05 PM.

A crew reached Maestro Francesco Lotoro , president of the ILMC Foundation, to interview him and document the thirty-year research activity he has conducted on concentration camp music, on the occasion of the conference-concert last December 11th organised by the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency of Puglia at the State Archives of Bari .

The article focuses not only on ongoing research activities but also on the original musical materials recovered by the Foundation in Italy and abroad and currently housed in Barletta. Further in-depth coverage is provided of the recently inaugurated Library and Media Library of Musical Sciences in Barletta, where the library materials on concentration camp musical literature collected by the ILMC Foundation over the past three decades are temporarily housed.

In the January 26 episode of VISIONI, the feature dedicated to Francesco Lotoro and the activities of the ILMC Foundation will be part of a broader reflection on artistic production during the Holocaust, through a comprehensive investigation of the role of art as a form of spiritual resistance and a tool for denouncing Nazi horror.

VISIONI is a project by Alessandra Greca , written with Laura Bolio, Silvia Benini, Elena Bonora, Chiara Biffi, Francesca Filiasi , and Mirella Serri. Directed by Anna Tinti. The video features a trailer for the service.
