In collaboration with the SECA Foundation of Trani, the ILMC - ETS Foundation organized the exhibition "At Night I Painted Red Paintings" at the former Scolagrande Synagogue in Trani, featuring 23 works by Jewish artists deported during World War II. The paintings are part of a large collection of 300 works donated by writer and researcher Roberto Malini to the ILMC Foundation, which will find a permanent home in the museum area of the Cittadella della Musica Concentrazionaria, soon to be built in Barletta.
Born in Milan in 1959, Roberto Malini has published poetry, historical essays, short stories, and novellas; his collection is the fruit of travels around the world; his extensive Operazione Salvataggio earned him the prestigious Pasquale Rotondi-Patronato Award in 2018.
In the photos: a conference presenting the exhibition; the installation in the former Scolagrande Synagogue in Trani; some of Jacob Vassover's paintings on display; Francesco Lotoro with Aldo Patruno (Puglia Region), Natale Pagano, and Graziano Urbano (SECA Foundation).
The project "Future Memories. Lotoro's Journey to Save the Lost Music" , of which this journey is also a part, is promoted by the Fondazione Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria ETS and supported by Claims Conference (New York), Regione Puglia, Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe (London), Righteous Persons Foundation (Los Angeles), Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah (Paris).
