The University of Bari Aldo Moro (Department of Humanistic Research and Innovation) has signed a framework agreement for postgraduate collaboration with the ETS Foundation Institute of Musical Literature Concentration Camps (Istituto di Letteratura Musicale Concentrazionaria ETS) in Barletta, an institution chaired by pianist Francesco Lotoro. For over 30 years, the organization has been engaged in researching, safeguarding, and promoting musical production in concentration, internment, forced labor, and extermination camps, and other sites of civilian and military captivity from 1993 (the opening of KL Dachau) to 1953 (the death of Joseph Stalin). The document, approved by the Academic Senate, was signed by the Rector, Professor Stefano Bronzini , and by Francesco Lotoro, President of the ILMC Foundation .
According to the University of Bari, this agreement is fully consistent with the contribution that the University of Bari aims to make—through research, teaching, and higher education—to the cultural, social, and economic growth and development not only locally but also nationally and internationally. For the ILMC Foundation, this agreement is a crucial tool for continuing its artistic promotion efforts at the highest levels, aimed at disseminating musical, theatrical, pictorial, and organ production in captivity, detention, and deportation during the 20 years separating the rise of National Socialism and the decline of Stalinism.
"The framework agreement with the University of Bari is an ambitious goal for our Foundation, and I sincerely thank Professor Lorenzo Mattei and the Rector, Professor Stefano Bronzini, for having worked with great attention and care on this agreement ," said Professor Bronzini. " We will move immediately to provide important content to the agreement. We are considering first- and second-level Master's degrees, as well as refresher and training courses, as well as shared publishing projects. The ILMC Foundation of Barletta has been a non-state public library for a year and a publishing house for a few months. It will not be difficult to launch important projects." with the University of Bari”.
