The SECA Foundation, founding body of the Typewriter Museum based at the Trani Palazzo Lodispoto Museum Center, in collaboration with the Institute of Concentrationary Musical Literature Foundation (ILMC) of Barletta, sets up ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฅ'๐๐ฑ ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐-๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐๐จ ๐๐ข ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ The exhibition "๐๐ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ญ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฏ๐จ ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐๐ซ๐ข ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข", with 23 works of Jewish art dating back to the period preceding the Second World War, to the years of the conflict and to those immediately following.
The Exhibition, scheduled from July 18 to September 12, 2024, presents ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐๐ณ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ข ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐๐ซ๐ข ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ข ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ณ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข acquired by the ILMC Foundation, an organization which, thanks to the work carried out over the last 35 years by Francesco Lotoro in the safeguarding and promotion of music written in Ghettos, Lagers and Gulags from 1933 to 1953, has given life to an Archive and a Library today protected and bound by the Ministry of Culture.
The Pesaro-born poet and writer ๐๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข has donated an extraordinary collection to the ILMC Foundation, which will find its permanent home in the Museum of the future Citadel of Concentrationary Music, which will be built on the site of the former Barletta Distillery. Malini has dedicated his life to recovering these works, saving them from dispersion and oblivion, a commitment that earned him the prestigious 2018 Pasquale Rotondi-Mecenatismo Award. To save the works of artists who experienced the tragedy of the Holocaust, for many years he has acted as a tireless researcher of paintings and drawings created before, during, and after the anti-Semitic persecutions of the twentieth century, some of enormous artistic value and all deeply moving; as Malini himself states, his collection โwas conceived as a point of reference for a community place, a symbol of the civil and cultural growth of that place and an educational destination for scholastic institutionsโ.
The title of the Exhibition refers both to the "red paintings" by the Polish Jewish artist Jacob Vassover (1926โ2008) and to the title of the autobiographical novel Night by the Romanian Jewish writer Elie Wiesel (Nobel Peace Prize 1986), who was deported with his family to Auschwitz and Buchenwald as a youth. The title of the Exhibition is intended to ideally evoke an emotional balance between these two extraordinary protagonists of 20th-century history, art, and literature.
